Salt and Pepper Turnips
- 1 bunch Japanese turnips, or other variety
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Maldon sea salt
- Ground black pepper
Heat oven to 425. Set a sheet pan in oven in warm. Slice turnips in half lengthwise. If using another type of turnip chop into elegant uniform sized pieces of desired shape. Toss with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Turn turnips out onto prepared pan, they should sizzle on contact, creating a more or less single layer. Roast until absolutely turnips are totally tender and have started to crisp and caramelize, about 45 minutes.
